PNG HF

The HF project resumed when Indra Australia and PNG ASL agreed on a way forward on the previous issued was resolved.  In the engagement included CRD acceptance, Radio and Network equipment training and Factory acceptance testing (FAT).  Procurement of the Electrical power systems was initiated.  Civil construction in Lae was also initiate. 

My role as Project engineer / Test Manager was to complete FAT in Brisbane with not more than 3 minor defects and support the in country activities.

Samoa

Samoa Airport Authority currently operates a single certified international aerodrome at Faleolo (APW) on Upolu. Due to its close proximity to Apia, Samoa’s capital city and government hub, Faleolo (APW) serves as the main link for international travel to Samoa from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and American Samoa. The infrastructure at Faleolo incorporates 2 remote sites (Mt Fiamoe and Mt Vaea) that also form an important part of the communications with aircraft systems.

Indra Australia was awarded a contract for the Procurement Of Airfield Lighting, Power Systems and Air Traffic Control Equipment as 3 Lots.

Lot1 – Airfield Lighting equipment replacement

Lot2 – Electrical Power equipment replacement

Lot3 – Air Traffic Control equipment replacement

Airways NZ is fulfilling the role of “Owners Engineer” for the project.

My role as Project Engineer was to create a Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) to ensure our 6 subcontractor were compliant with SAA requirements, publish a civil design Requirements specification for in country quotation and assessment.  The design document was to for an integral component of the For Construction Drawing set.
